Anusuya K, Kadam RP, Jakkawad SR, Lad AS and Pathrikar DT

Aims: The study aimed to evaluate the prevailing organizational climate among faculty members of an agricultural university and to identify the most prominent dimensions influencing workplace perceptions.
Study design: An ex-post-facto research design was adopted Place and Duration of Study: Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), Parbhani, 12 constituent colleges, during the academic year 2024–25.
Methodology: A total of 120 faculty members were selected using proportionate stratified random sampling, ensuring representation across colleges. Organizational climate was measured using the MAO-C scale developed by Udai Pareek, which consists of 12 dimensions: orientation, interpersonal relationships, supervision, problem management, mistake management, conflict management, communication, decision-making, trust, reward management, risk-taking and innovation & change. Responses were recorded on a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed to classify climate perceptions into very low, low, moderate, high and very high categories, with mean scores used to rank the prominence of each dimension.
Results: The findings revealed that the majority of faculty (84.17%) perceived the organizational climate as high, while 15.83% rated it as moderate. None of the respondents reported very low, low or very high climate levels. Among the twelve dimensions, Conflict Management (mean = 20.25), Problem Management (20.15) and Risk Taking (20.02) ranked highest, indicating strong faculty perceptions in these areas. Conversely, Decision Making (18.95), Trust (18.78) and Innovation & Change (18.38) ranked lowest, suggesting areas requiring improvement.
Conclusion: The study concludes that the organizational climate at VNMKV is predominantly positive, fostering cooperation, effective management and faculty motivation. However, relatively weaker scores in decision-making, trust and innovation highlight the need for institutional strategies that encourage faculty participation, strengthen mutual confidence and promote creativity. Enhancing these dimensions can further improve faculty satisfaction, organizational effectiveness and institutional growth.
