Agricultural schemes provide various benefits to farmers, including increased productivity, financial assistance, crop insurance, and other essential facilities. Since women are directly or indirectly involved in agriculture and allied activities, special provisions have been made for them under various government schemes and programmes. These initiatives aim to improve farming practices, facilitate access to productive inputs, reduce workload, and enhance efficiency in processing, storage, and marketing activities. This present study, entitled “Awareness Regarding Government Schemes in Agriculture and Allied Sectors among the Rural Women of Jorhat District,” was conducted to assess the awareness level of rural women about flagship government programmes launched between 2007 and 2020, which continue to operate in the fields of crop production, fisheries, and animal husbandry. The study surveyed 120 respondents from six villages across three blocks of Jorhat district. Data were collected through structured interview schedule and analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and chi-square tests. The findings revealed that among the various schemes studied, the highest awareness was observed for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), with 69.17% of respondents knowing about its monetary benefits. This was followed by 56.67% awareness of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), which provides crop insurance and financial assistance. Gram Panchayat member was identified as the primary source of information for majority of respondents (83.33%). A significant association was found between the respondents’ occupation and their awareness on different schemes.
