The present study was carried out to investigate the socio-economic profile of farming community of four different villages namely Amguri part II, Huramara part II, Dumuria part II and Fauzdarpara of Bongaigaon district of Assam. The data were collected through individual interview of each farmer using a semi-structured survey. A multistage, purposive cum proportionate random sampling design was adopted for selection of 200 farmers from the designated villages under study in 2024 as part of the Amar Gaon Amar Gaurav (AGAG) initiative. This study found that farmers are facing significant economic challenges, coupled with low literacy levels and limited knowledge of agricultural practices. The farming community primarily cultivate rice, jute, and seasonal vegetables, lacking awareness of improved management techniques. To enhance the socioeconomic status of the farming community in the district, it is crucial to introduce modern agricultural technologies.
