abstract
The study was carried out in Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province, to analyze the situation and economic efficiency of land consolidation. The secondary data on land consolidation results is collected from Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ky Anh district. A survey of 99 households from three communes is conducted to gather data on agricultural productivity of sub-land use types. Economic efficiency is measured by three indicators (production value, added value, and capital efficiency). Land consolidation helps people to decrease land fragmentation, arrange fields, and proactive irrigation, create favorable conditions for the application of science and technology, and improve the economic efficiency of sub-LUTs, thereby increasing farmers’ income. Land consolidation is necessary to gain targets according to Plan No. 537/KH-UBND. The state must implement proper rules to encourage people to acquire land and apply science and technology to production. Provide adequate capital to consolidate and develop fields. Training to assist farmers in gaining faster access to advanced science and technology, market knowledge, production and business management, etc.
