The present study was carried out during the year 2022-2023 in two districts of western Uttar Pradesh. The data from 160 respondents were collected through personal interview method with the help of pre-structured interview schedule. The study revealed that the personal profile of the tomato growers, maximum tomato growers were found in the lower medium age group with their age ranging between 31 to 45 years (60.00%), Other Backward Class (OBC) (58.10%), had graduation level of education (26.25%), having up to 1 ha. of land (52.50%), agriculture as the main occupation (92.50%), having no membership of any social organization (53.75%), having power sprayer (71.87%) followed by sprayer/duster (53.12%), tractor with trolly and cultivator (33.12%), harrow (30.00%), rotavator (28.75%), ridge maker (28.12%), levellar (26.25%) respectively whereas majority of the respondents were belonging to Rs. 1,00,001 to 2,00,000 income group (51.25%). The study was further revealed the constraints faced by the tomato growers. The maximum number of tomato growers were faced constraints related to the leaf blight disease in the tomato production, unavailability of technical advice (70.00%), high cost of fertilizers and chemicals (71.87%), and price fluctuation in the marketing (90.62%).
