Business performance of various products of self-help groups under Mahatma Gandhi rural industrial park in Sankra, Durg district of Chhattisgarh

The objective of this study was to evaluate the business performance of various products of Self-Help Groups under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park in Sankra, Durg district of Chhattisgarh. The Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park (MG-RIPA) in Sankra, inaugurated on April 25, 2023, aims to empower self-help groups (SHGs) and boost small-scale industries. Led by Shree Ganesha Global Herbal Gulal Company Pvt Ltd, the project includes 150 SHG members who are engaged in making products like, herbal gulal, rangoli powder and kashi ashtagandha. Every individual receives a daily wage of Rs. 200. The study found that the SHGs have achieved significant results in terms of business performance, with a total net return of Rs. 7,311,625 during a period of five months. The top-performing product was kashi ashtagandha, which generated a net return of Rs. 2,525,000, followed by herbal gulal with a net return of Rs. 2,697,325, and rangoli powder with a net return of Rs. 2,089,300.
